Next Level Tax Resolution, Inc. is an independent CPA firm. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, approved by, or acting on behalf of the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, or any state revenue department or government agency.

No page on this site should be read as suggesting otherwise. If you believe you have been contacted by someone claiming to be the IRS, the IRS opens contact by post — it does not demand payment by phone, email or text, and it never asks for gift cards or card numbers.

We are not a law firm

We are a CPA firm. As a Certified Public Accountant, Katherine Johnson has unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS — the same standing as an Enrolled Agent or an attorney — in examinations, appeals and collection matters.

We do not provide legal services. Some matters require an attorney rather than a CPA, including representation before the United States Tax Court, bankruptcy filings, and anything involving potential criminal exposure. Where your matter needs one, we will tell you and help you find the right person.

Everything published here — service pages, FAQ, blog posts and downloadable guides — describes how the tax system generally works. It is not tax, legal, accounting or financial advice, and it is not advice about your situation.

Tax law changes, IRS procedures change, and thresholds and figures are adjusted annually. Something accurate when written may no longer be accurate when you read it. Do not act, or decline to act, on the basis of anything on this website without speaking to a licensed professional about your own facts.

No guarantee of any outcome

We do not guarantee that your tax debt will be reduced by any amount or percentage, that it will be resolved within any period of time, or that you will qualify for any IRS or state programme.

Eligibility for programmes such as an Offer in Compromise, an installment agreement, Currently Not Collectible status or penalty relief depends on your own financial circumstances, your compliance history, and decisions made by the IRS or a state authority. Those decisions are not ours to make.

Where this site describes what a programme can do, that is a description of the programme — not a prediction about your case.

Penalties and interest continue to accrue

Penalties and interest on an unpaid balance generally continue to accrue while a matter is being resolved, including while a payment plan is in place, while an application is under review, and while an account is in hardship status. Resolving a tax matter does not stop the balance changing.
